While I admire the steampunk look, it’s not something that’s ever been a big thing with me. But these wallpapers, icons and fonts look amazing! I’m downloading it anyway just because they look so cool. Since my home office is done in browns, it’ll look amazing.
Thanks!
@DiAnne – You are very welcome. ^_^
This all reminds me of Jules Verne’s 20,000 Leagues under the Sea, Amelia Earhart, and Jack the Ripper’s Victorian England all wrapped into one. Very bizarre and beautiful at the same time. Thank you for the look back in time.
Great collections, the icons are particularly awesome. I suppose you appreciate steampunk as well, don’t you?
@Sue Ragan – Jules Verne’s stories are definitely awesome reading and you are welcome. ^_^
@Joao Brito – Glad to hear that you like the collection. ^_^ While I do appreciate steampunk my favourite genre is medieval/fantasy. ^_^
this is really cool. the entire collection is a lot to take in at once. the colors are excellent
While Desktop Nexus is still my favorite ( the automatic re-sizing for your particular screen size is fantastic), if you’re a steampunk fan, “wallbase” DOES have more of a steampunk collection. Like Desktop Nexus, wallbase is also free to join.
Please, just where did this term “Steampunk” come from??
I do recognise this genre, but until now, I never knew that this genre is termed so.
@nt0xik8ed – ^_^
@Ushindi – I agree that you can find some nice stuff at Wallbase but they are EXTREMELY unreliable for any kind of permanent, longterm linking. :( :( I had tried them in the past and everyone (including myself) came away from the experience very frustrated. :( :( If you are just looking for wallpapers for yourself and do not need a permanent link then Wallbase does nicely. ^_^
@UUUnicorn – I think this article from Wikipedia can provide all the details you need (the term seems to have been coined by science fiction author K. W. Jeter). ^_^

@Asian Angel: I agree completely about the permanent links to Wallbase – some you have posted above no longer work for reasons known only to God and Wallbase.
However, going to Wallbase directly (for your many fans) and then searching for the genre desired seems to work very well, although I definitely miss the automatic re-sizing feature of DT-N – many at Wallbase don’t fit my 40″ Samsung screen very well.
BTW, thanks again for all your helpful posts. They are appreciated.
@Ushindi – Yes, it is beyond the realm of understanding what happened to those Wallbase links, so that is why I have used DesktopNexus and deviantART for wallpapers since those early days. ~_^ At least I was able to patch up those old posts with zip files of the missing wallpapers to balance them out. ^_^
You are very welcome regarding the posts and it is always wonderful to know that they are appreciated. ^_^
A friend of mine pointed me to this post and I promptly linked to it for my steampunk group. Thank you for collecting all this loveliness!
Thank you, Asian Angel. :-)
@Moira – You are most welcome and I am glad to hear that you found others to share the steampunk goodness with. ^_^
@UUUnicorn – You are very welcome. ^_^
