If he puts asbestos around his firewall, he already has a firewall ?
I vote for public execution of the creator of these comics!
No offenses, but WHAT?????????
I agree they are terrible.
I think it’s supposed to read “Putting asbestos around your computer isn’t the same as installing a firewall.”
@Tim: You got it right, I guess…
I agree this joke is awful.
Having someone proof read your work is ALWAYS a good idea…. and have someone who knows something about computers do the proof reading….just a suggestion…
I read this and was like…”TYPO!!!” Glad I’m not the only one to see it :P
Asbestos is a fire retardant, it was used as insulation for live cables as preventatives for causing fire.
.. Get it now…
The joke is funny if you consider that the person using the Asbestos is dimwitted and thinks that this would help. Yes it should have said putting around the computer. I would like to see if any of the comments coming against the cartoons are from people who can draw and think up cartoons as well. I like them myself. Some of these maybe because the cartoonist has actually herd someone make a joke of the situations used before they up make the cartoon. Some maybe shouldn’t have been made but as a cartoonist sometimes you don’t make them for anyone else but yourself because you see humor in them just for you.
99er -” insulation for live cables “, Makes no sense to me. Asbestos was used for so much more than cables! It actually was used as a firewall, in many places. furnaces, buildings, fire boxes, etc.
@Dufus, the point is you understand the joke.
I find people’s comments here are critical due to the fact that they don’t understand the joke. Obviously Asbestos was used for more then just live cables, I was making one point to clear the ignorance of the matter.
@Everyone – Unfortunately the typo got by me when I was sorting the batch of these I received earlier…otherwise this would not have gotten published. :( :( My apologies to all…
Ok, managed to patch up the typo using text from another comic…
At this point I am closing the comments on this one.
