Clever… but I need more shelf space!
@Kynan – I will see what I can find and post another one of some sort soon. ^_^
This reminds me of Microsfot Bob — which flopped back in the ’90s…
@Kynan: I made my own with the shelves facing me, plus some nice pictures as ‘posters’. Bonus: Use custom icons for your shortcuts for further functional eye-candy. My friends were all asking how I customize my desktop.
I’m a digital artist and I’ve created about a dozen or so custom icon sets that are available for free download on the Wincustomize website. Some of my latest were designed specifically for this type of wallpaper effect. You can go to Wincustomize.com and put my name in the search box ” AceMatrix” and it will bring up my gallery of icon sets which are completely free to download and use as you like with no restrictions. Hope you will enjoy them. — Ace –
Mmmm. You might be on to something….. think living room. Garage….etc… really really like this…a great way to organize applications in a natural way we live way we organize….thank you for posting this and the freebies….any Linux lover’s…plz?
@Lisa Wang- care to share your customized wallpaper?
I use about a dozen custom icons between my desktop
and my links bar. Made with family pics and a couple humorous images.
Made via ‘converticon . com’
@Andy: I think I can’t. I used some personal-only textures and iconsets so I don’t understand how legal is it to share. Besides, I don’t think you want a girl’s study with bright yellow wallpaper and butterflies.
I downloaded the file and installed it on my laptop with Vista and it looks GORGEOUS!
I downloaded the same file to my mother’s computer. She is using a Dell system with Windows 7.
The file will not open as a desktop background. on my mother’s computer. I did the same steps I used on her machine but it still won’t open on hers.
Right click, set as desktop background.
Do you have any suggestions? My mother wants to have this as her computer desktop background.
I keep thinking it must be something simple that I am missing.
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.
To Ace Matrix:
I went to http://wincustomize.com/ but could not find a “search” box. Of course, then I could not find all your wallpapers.
@ BW :
I guess I could have made it a bit easier on everyone if I would have just posted a direct link. Sorry about that. Here it is, enjoy ! :
@soapy – You might try this method to get it set as her desktop background since the other method is not working: Right-click on the desktop, select “Personalise”, click on “Desktop Background” at the bottom of the window, browse to the location of the wallpaper and select it, then click “Save Changes” at the bottom of the window. That should do it. ^_^
It would take 40 Blu-ray discs, 212 DVDs, 1,498 CDs, or 728,178 3.5″ floppy disks to backup a single 1TB hard drive.
