    Like the author, I like Win 7 the most, followed by Win XP. No need to upgrade at all unless or until I make the switch to ‘touch’ computing. By the time I do, hopefully it will be Win 9 or 10 — and made as stable/reliable as Win 7.

    Great vid.

    @Kavin

    You can only go up in the world now!

    Maybe I am being a little picky, but your skipped Windows/286 and Windows/386 – probably because most of the magic was in the memory handling.

    But to be thorough, they at least deserve a mention in the comments.

    Windows 95 – breakthrough ;
    Windows 98 – really bad ;
    Windows 98 SE – very good ;
    Windows 2000 – crappy ;
    Windows XP (since SP2) – the best ever up to its time ;
    Windows Vista – urrgh ! ;
    Windows 7 – really the best ;
    Windows 8 – Microsoft led astray; a pleading for Linux alternative! ;

    Given the alternation, I’m waiting for Windows 9 …

    The ONLY Vindows that worked was W200 Enterprise and DOS, which is what all Vindows still is, but with fancy debris.

    I still have a copy of Windows 1.0 on 3.5 floppy. I’ve tried to load it up on an old machine but it had some trouble either with the size of the hard drive partition or the amount or RAM installed. I think I need an even older 286 or 386 machine with 640K RAM and small primary DOS partition.

    @ Sr. Wences,

    Agreed, but I wouldn’t be to hard on the video author – I’d all but forgotten about them myself!
