There is one function not described here. I used it together with a table and one of ex-gilrfriends. the aBook in question was an old textbook about conservative dentistry :)
@ Stoyan Deckoff,
WHAT?! Do you understand the HUMOR here?
Here are some more “features” that might give better clues:
* Long time proven technology (involves ink and paper).
* No electricity & no batteries required (except for possible artificial light sources such as a table lamp).
* Available for temporary loan at your local LIBRARY!
But if that’s not obvious then I’ll just say it: IT’S A BOOK! It’s a humorous play on words when you think about what an iPhone or an eReader is or something. The “aBook” is just that – A BOOK!
BTW, “Digits” or “digital technology” could just as easily be describing hand movement and fingers too.
I don’t know if you were altered (drunk/high) when you posted that. So here’s another little piece of advice I always find prudent: Tis better to keep one’s mouth shut and appear to be an idiot rather than open one’s mouth and remove all doubt. – Mark Twain (Paraphrased)
@Huh Methinks you’ve been punk’d! And lacking in imagination.
“Sunlight viewable display” is very good, but I would go one further and describe it as “Solar powered” – after all, you can’t read it in the dark!
@ Huh. Stoyan Deckoff got it; you didn’t get his joke.
Are you sure about that?
Think about it (if you can). All anyone has to go on is what is written. Perhaps Stoyan Deckoff was serious or perhaps he was just joking around. It’s impossible to tell given his indecipherable rambling. Read it again! Something about using it on a table with an ex girlfriend? Care to explain that or perhaps clear up the grammar?! I might assume his comments were intended as humor but given the fact that he didn’t pick up on the cartoon’s own humor does raise some serious doubts. And when I consider the poor level of pop culture and the pathetic grammar/spelling/thinking abilities that a lot of people actually have these days, it’s very likely he was serious. After all, it’s nearly everywhere.
As for me, I’ll laugh at the humor of what “aBook” is. And sorry I gave away the spoiler that would have likely exposed even more idiots. But as far as what Stoyan Deckoff’s idea of a what humorous comment is, I’ll blame a failing educational system and a moronic entertainment industry for his malfunctioning punk-like personality. Not necessarily Stoyan Deckoff himself since he’s obviously a victim of either his environment, parenting or culture – possibly all three!
Over the years I’ve accumulated hundreds of hardbound books in several floor to ceiling bookcases (and still love my “real” books), but anymore, my Nook is my main reading source – I just downloaded two novels from my local library for free, and have not bought a new hardbound in several years.
It’s so easy taking my Nook (full of electronic books) on the road with me instead of a heavy pile of my “real” books, as I used to.
LOL, paper books have MANY drawbacks: not private (anyone can read), bulky, can’t be searched, can’t be read in the dark without another light source, can get mouldy if stored incorrectly… shall I go on?
@Huh Thanks for the laugh!
@ Huh. Stoyan Deckoff was referring to using books to level table legs. The rest of us got it so maybe you need to work on your reading comprehension.
(not the same Paul as earlier) Thanks Stoyan. Now I’ve got the horrible mental image of using my lovely Nexus to level a wonky table. Imagine the sad little crunch….
Stoyan was also being humorous. A bit dry, and you have apparently missed it.
btw….. digital navigation likely refers to page numbers.
by the by….. Good job of “removing any doubt”. Even after plain and simple rebuking, you couldn’t give up the bone. <– Do you get the reference?
I took him to mean studying with girls. Something I remember fondly.
Not water proof however .
