The old adage “Red sky at night, sailor’s delight. Red sky in morning, sailor’s warning” actually has quite a bit of scientific merit; the red color of sunset/sunrise results from the sunlight passing through dust and moisture particles which, dependent on the time of day we see the coloration, indicate that the incoming (or outgoing) weather system could produce a storm.
