Gmail Rolls Out New Compose Features
Gmail has several new features that make it even easier to compose email messages including pop-over compositions windows (similar to the Google Chat window), contact profile pictures in the address box, and drag and drop address switching.
If you’ve ever had to open two separate windows in order to continually tab back and forth so you could reference one email while composing another, you’ll certainly appreciate the new pop-over compose window that allows you to work within Gmail while keeping a small email composition window open in the corner–as seen in the screenshot above.
In addition to that major change, Gmail has also introduced contact photos in the address suggestion window (making it easier than ever to make sure you’re selecting the right recipient) and the ability to drag and drop addresses between the To:, CC:, and BCC: address slots.

Great improvement BUT… I do not find how to switch between the different email accounts/address I manage with my Gmail.
Any suggestion
:-/
Opsss
Here it was: on the right corner you could find “From” and then switch it
:-P
I like it
the only thing missing is not placing signatures in the email :(

Mozilla Thunderbird, configured to use however many email/gmail accounts you want.
I love the improved composer, but I think it still needs a mode where it takes the full window. Mail is not chat.

Thanks a lot. Been wondering how to switch between the different ‘From’ accounts.
ugh. I hate constant changes to my accounts. Pushing the edit features to the bottom this time after making them practically hidden. Not impressed Google… Email is not chat and I hate that it pops up to the bottom corner of my screen. It’s just annoying.
I don’t like the new window for composing. For some of the emails I send, I have to go back and forth between Firefox and other programs and I hate having to hover over the Firefox icon in the tray and then choose which window I want every time I go back and forth. I immediately switched right back to the old way of composing emails and will keep it this way until I’m forced to go with the new way.
