Jason Fitzpatrick is warranty-voiding DIYer and all around geek. When he's not documenting mods and hacks he's doing his best to make sure a generation of college students graduate knowing they should put their pants on one leg at a time and go on to greatness, just like Bruce Dickinson. You can follow him on Google+ if you'd like.

My spouse and I enjoy playing Counter Strike and Diablo when is comes to both of us in the game at the same time. Its a lot of fun playing head to head.
My personal favorites are probably Contra, Super Smash TV, Battletoads (and Double Dragon), Mario Kart 64 and probably Lifeforce too.I have my PlayStation 2 to USB converter and two controllers, so we have all the buttons we need, and then some.
Being the geek that I am, the original Super Mario Bros. is still pretty cool. I’m a huge fan of the 8-bit graphics and music, as well as it being one of the first video games.
Torchlight II.
Good ol’ Battlefield 1942. I hope they remake/overhaul/bring back that game! It was good old simple fun and crashing into people with Jeeps was the most fun you could have without a summons! :D
Lego Star Wars Original Trilogy.
Portal 2; the co-op is awesome!
Project Eden.
Old game. Great Co-op.
PAYDAY: The Heist is a great co-op game; you and your team have to complete objectives and steal valuable items as you defend yourself from the swarm of cops and SWAT. The game also has class trees and various weapons and items to use.
Pretty much any multiplayer game made by Valve
Tic-tac-toe, but sometimes the chicken wins.
Sorry, I have no idea what a co-op game is. I thought a co-op was where you bought groceries or where college students worked for a semester instead of going to school.
Splinter Cell Chaos Theory. That game was great to play with a friend, the story was good, the levels were well designed, and it was just as fun to play stealthily or as the single player. Chaos Theory was definitely the pinnacle of that franchise, and it was the best Co-Op I’ve ever played.
DotA/Dota 2
Call me new-school, but I really loved Halo: CE and Halo 2 for Local. For LAN, like anyone, I really like Minecraft. For Xbox live, I enjoy any of the Halos, and Battlefield 3.
Metal Slug, Contra and New Super Mario Bros. are the best co-op games for me.
Classic games never fail to bring the best co-op gaming experience!
For the Wii with my wife: Lego Indiana Jones
For the PC with my buddys:Left 4 Dead 2
On the PS2/PC for some chillin’: Mashed
Borderlands and splinter cell conviction are my faves
I just made that kind of list Yesterday, here it is :
Age of mythology (players vs computer), Magicka , Torchlight 2 , Super mario bros wii , Zelda four sword , Little big planet, borderland, Orcs Must Die 2,Age of Empires 2 et 3, Rayman Origins, Portal 2, Trine 1 and 2, Command and Conquer (many), LEGO Batman, Fable 3, Jamestown, Lara Croft GOL, minecraft, terraria, Half-Life 2: Deathmatch, Titan Quest, Shadowgrounds, Alien Swarm, Civilization IV, Dungeon Defenders, team fortress 2, left 4 dead 1 & 2, sanctum…
For non-electronic: Dungeons & Dragons
For electronic-based: classic old-school Perfect Dark for N64
^_^
The Baldur’s Gate games for the PS2.
The Gears of War trilogy on 360 is my favorite co-op currently, although I do have fond memories of bonding with my brother playing some co-op Contra on the NES.
Borderlands 1 and Borderlands 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For the win. The are really fun games when you plau coop and the loot in the games is just fun to get.
I enjoy Wii Sports, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Trackmania: Build To Race, NFS: The Run, and Wii Sports Resort. As for PC, I like Midtown Madness 2 (2000 classic, buggiest game ever made), Test Drive Unlimited 2, Super Mario Bros (original, played in an NES emuator), Mari0 (mix of Mario and Portal), and Portal 2.
WAAAAAY back, we loved Pong. As a kid, it was epic for its time.
As games got more sophisticated, we loved and still love all the Mario games. We still get together to play Super Smash Bros, Mario Kart and Mario Party! All versions are great. Even the old Kirby games are now coming out to be played on today’s systems. *ah nostalgia*
I love to challenge my kids to dancing games on the Wii and Kinect. However they kill me at the sports games. And in our household, we all play DnD and Pokemon except the “big man.” Dad plays Gears of War and Halo like it is going out of style. And we may be attempting Skyrim.
Then I play Aion and The Sims (all by my lonesome…)
Really, our family just can’t get by without super-internet, every console and handheld ever create,d and 4 computers. Emulators and re-bundled games are so great when they come out so we can clean out our old systems to make room for more ^^
Contra. Quit stealing my power ups!
I got my kids into gaming. I set up a nice gaming LAN in the house and they would invite friends over for the weekend. We would spend 2 days playing Mechwarrior, BF 1942/Vietnam, Combat Flight Simulator and C&C. Hard to pick my fav as we had a lot of good times on all of them.
When my fiance and I played and beat Contra on the NES. I knew she was the one and we got married and its been great.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl is a must-play with the guys.
Skulltag & Zdaemon (DOOM)
The top co-op’s for us older gamers is Diablo3, Guild Wars 2 and Torchlight 2, in that order.
Portal 2 and Saints Row the Third!
@ Asian Angel: Funny, because I still have my son’s N64 setup and occasionally enjoy playing Perfect Dark, as well as Nightmare Creatures, Ocarina Of Time, etc. – probably have 20 games or so still.
Talk about retro…all those great old games that were once the height of gaming.
I seem to enjoy those more than the newer games like Portal or Mirror’s Edge that I have on my PC (although I’m still a sucker for Serious Sam).
Probably a little bit of nostalgia for when my son was small…
Cards: UNO!
Boards: MONOPOLY!
Old School: Super Mario Bros. 3
PC: Spades
PS3: COD MW3
But my all time favorite Co-op game is Hide & Go seek…. Too much fun man!
Marvel Ultimate Alliance for PC. With all the mods that have been done, it’s even more than just Marvel heroes!
My favorites are the Command & Conquer games (I have the “First Decade” pack), Garry’s Mod, Team Fortress 2, and the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater games.
rainbow6 and warcraft2 was the best for LAN games :)
Halo co-op campaign in legendary difficulty. Good times.
Currently: Dead Island
Back In The Day: TMNT2 Arcade
Borderlands 2 :)
My favorite BeGone. You know why ???
1. No need to install the the game.
2. It’s work just as add on in browser.
3. Play full 3d like it’s installed on system.
4. Very Lite on system.
5. Works good even in low bandwidth.
Just give a try. It’s not more than 10MB of your bandwidth on first use.
I’m an oldie in the video game world and to TechGeek01 (Mario was not even close to being one of the first video games). For multiplayers I have to put Contra, TMNT, DoubleDragon, FinalFight, and BubbleBobble in my top list.
I loved my Atari, ColecoVision, and Vectrex! All the multiplayer games on those systems where amazing back then. My brothers and I had sore thumbs from the times we spent playing.
Metal Slug X (NEOGEO)
Worms Armageddon (PC)
Wrecked Revenge Revisited (XBOX360)
Guitar Hero (PC/XBOX360/PS3)
From the old days on the NES we used to really enjoy Double Dragon and Contra. Currently we enjoy mostly PC games such as Diablo, Borderlands, Trine, Magicka..etc So happy coop is catching up back again.
Mario Bros 3 and Contra (Nintendo)
Super Mario World, Final Fight 2, any TMNT (Super Nintendo)
Sonic (Sega)
Any Doom, Rajhong (PC)
FIFA (PS2)
Resident Evil 5, COD MW2, any FIFA (PS3)
Perfect Dark on the N64 was great fun!
Halo (all of them)
Sanctum on pc from steam
Gears of War
Resident Evil 5 & 6
Double Dragon for old scool
Gears.
Wow – Contra takes me back.
border lands is a good call…. and SNES secret of mana is another
For newer games, it’s hard to beat Halo.
For older games, Contra, Supersprint (not technically a co-op, but that’s how me and my brother played it – one tries to win and the other tries to beat up the competitors), and Bruce Lee and Goonies (old Commodore 64 games that are simple, but amazingly fun).
Can’t believe Vietcong (Fist Alpha and Purple Haze) hasn’t been mentioned…. It was a great game on it’s own but it’s by far the best coop game we’ve ever played on PC.
