Retro Game Machine Crafted From IKEA Basket and Arduino Board
Looking for a clean enclosure for your next project? This polished looking build combines a small IKEA storage basket, Arduino gaming board, and sweet arcade buttons to create a compact gaming machine.
Courtesy of tinker John J., the build features a Hackvision–an Arduino-based gaming board designed for homebrew retro gaming–linked to some simple arcade buttons and a joystick. The whole thing is wrapped up in an IKEA Rationell Variera storage basket. With everything wired together all John needs to do to enjoy some old school gaming is plug the video out into his TV.

Jason Fitzpatrick is warranty-voiding DIYer and all around geek. When he's not documenting mods and hacks he's doing his best to make sure a generation of college students graduate knowing they should put their pants on one leg at a time and go on to greatness, just like Bruce Dickinson. I wonder, if this could be built using the Raspberry Pi instead… then throw M.A.M.E. and so on…
