WinRAR gave away free licenses more than a few times. I got one, installed it, but never used it.
Ended up removing it to undo the Explorer integration. I probably have that key still in the password manager somewhere, yep. Seems that 7z always did more than I needed when stuck on MS-Windows.
On Linux, the free unrar always did just fine if forced to use a .rar file.
I’m a fair sorta person, but if they give away licenses, should we be expected to pay?
I’ve always used PeaZip instead.

7-zip renders winrar useless.
I use winrar beta, no prompts to buy. Do I still get into heaven?
I’m still using the old free version of AlZip, and have never seen a need for anything else. Of course, my needs are very rudimentary – zipping and unzipping.
