Windows Vista is useless isn’t?
More useful than 8 apparently
I sat staring at Vista so long, scrolled back and forth a few times between Vista and 7…
8 caught me off guard. XD
Ha, funny. I’d love to see how Linux and Apple stack up on this chart.
I guess I was the only one to like Vista, worked fine for me, windows 7 better still, but windows 8 is useless as far as I can tell
I didn’t notice any difference between Windows XP and 7. Windows 8 was the best one.
@Michael
Surely you mean that you didn’t notice a difference between VISTA and 7? Even though they are different, XP to 7 was a MAJOR difference.
On the Win 98 hammer, shouldn’t the handle be broken?
@ Jim, Yeah, if it’s Win 98 the first edition. Win 98 SE was much better. I ran with it about 6 years.
I’ve had vista on my desktop for five years and haven’t found it problematic. When I switched to Win 7 notebook, I didn’t like it as much as vista initially. However, whenever I use the desktop I can see it’s slower despite having quite powerful quad-core cpu. Vista is definitely not useless (although many will disagree), but once you get used to 7, you won’t switch back.
Windows 8 has several features that are worth upgrading, but the ribbon in explorer looks like from Toy Story and Metro, while not being completelly useless, isn’t worth the missing start button
Thx for the nice feedback! :-) Maybe the howtogeek-team could put the better quality version of the image in here. (available at: http://www.schaeferdavid.de/images/tool_improvement_stacked.png )
If you ask me, Window 8 might better be compared to square wheels.
@David Schaefer – Thanks for stopping in and sharing the link for the hi-res version. ^_^ We just finished updating the post with the new version of the image (and link for it). ^_^
Looks like win 8 is a little to hard to handle aint it?
Hah! NT and ME didn’t even get a mention. What would they compare to?
“Hah! NT and ME didn’t even get a mention. What would they compare to?”
Well, let’s just put it this way: you’re gonna want to be careful where you step in your backyard.
What happened to Win 95? I liked it.
Windows 9 Is not on the list yet I have a working beta copy. Its called… Hold on someones at the door be right back…
