Windows 8 Metro Version of Google Chrome now Available for Download

With the imminent release of Windows 8 on the horizon, browser makers have been hard at work on Metro versions of their product for Microsoft’s new system. This week Google has officially released its first Metro version of Chrome that you can download for your system right now.

Here is what the Start Screen Metro tile for Chrome looked like after setting it as the default browser on our system (after restarting our system once Windows updates were finished installing).

Special Note: You will need to download the Dev Channel release of Chrome in order to have the new Metro version installed on your system.

Egh…this interface still sucks. Just like their phone.

To each their own. It’s an operating preference.
That doesn’t mean it sucks, it’s just not YOUR choice.

Unless you haven’t even tried it and are just hating because of the manufacturer…
    … then you’re just a bigoted douche.

@manrocket – You are welcome. ^_^ I am looking forward to seeing the Metro version of Firefox that Mozilla is working on. Firefox and Chrome will both be rather nice on Metro I believe. ^_^ Just wondering if/when Opera is going to do something for Metro… :(
