Does anyone not know what “Stockholm Syndrome” is? Here’s a good description:
In psychology, Stockholm syndrome is an apparently paradoxical psychological phenomenon in which hostages express empathy and have positive feelings towards their captors, sometimes to the point of defending them.

Just thought it needed a little explanation since this is America where we’re not #1 or even #10 (depending on who you ask, of course). And that’s not likely a subject to be taught in an American classroom unless it’s for an upper education psychology course or something.
