“Unplugged” isn’t just good music from time to time. It’s good – period! Thanks for the (humorous) video. Aside from the humor, I hope it helps remind some people that there’s more to life than what’s on that tiny/large glowing screen.
Heck! For some people I’d even settle for them just opening a window – a real window with glass. A window that will let the sun in during any of the daylight hours. It will help with the serotonin levels and mood if you stay near that open window too.
But nothing really beats getting outdoors. Social benefits aside, it’s just good health. You might even like to live dangerously and leave that cell phone and any other electronics behind. I dare you!
FYI: Just drinking milk, eating vitamin D rich foods, taking supplements will also not help. You have to “metabolize” vitamins (partly with potassium). And one of the best ways to metabolize vitamin D is to get exposure to the sun while doing something physical – like walking. If you do this regularly not only will your bones benefit but you might even avoid other health complications. Some people even say you can avoid certain types of cancer if you just get out and move too! (Whole body – not just your thumbs.)
@Anonymous. Can I channel that sunlight through an SSH window?
Outside is too big and the air smells different…
“Outside”, makes a good wallpaper.
Dextrose is an ingredient found in a surprising number of packaged foods. It’s also just another word for Glucose, which is just another type of sugar. So check the ingredients – your pre-packaged “lean” chicken breast might be treated with sugar.
