Why does After Effects crash so often? It better get polite if it’s going to do that…
flash does it the same way…the problem is, when it crashes saving the document. Like that, one can enter in an infinite buckle of politeness.
From my experience it crashes due to OpenGL issues mostly, & sometimes on systems with dual display using multiple display cards (no problem with single dual-head display card).
After Effects is a very demanding program… it used to crash for me all the time until I got my new computer. Now with an i7 processor and 16 gb of RAM, it runs as smoothly as you can imagine. ;)
Crashing is bad
I lose so many images mid-edit when Adobe’s Fireworks CS4 crashes, usually when I’m trying to edit the layer order. It goes to ‘not responding’, and it turns pale white like Windows programs do, and I have to end task it in Task Manager, I wish I had a “save-upon-crash” option.
Usually quicktime related problems or plugin problems like red giant denoiser. 0::42 I think is quicktime related.
