Hack an IKEA Picture Ledge Into a Tool Rack
This clever hack turns a picture ledge into a vertical screw driver rack and a hanging rail, intended for kitchen use, into a perfect station for hanging tools.
IKEAHacker reader Christian used a RIBBA picture ledge for the left hand rack seen in the photo above and a BYGEL rail for the right hand one. To turn the picture ledge into a screw driver holder he simply drilled a series of holes along it, allowing the screw drivers to slip in. The BYGEL rail was an ever easier adaptation, he bought it as is (along with some S-hooks) and simply hung tool on it.

wow,..stylish, très chic.
Nice for taking up wall-space, but what do I do with the other 99.99% of my tools? I have a better idea. Just trash all these screwdrivers and get two (1 for heavy duty & 1 for precision work) with interchangeable bits. Throw them in a drawer,..problem solved.
How is anything to do with carpentry a hack? Ridiculous. It’s like me saying I hacked my shoes because I laced up up a bit different.

On using S-hooks, I would close the hook around the rack so when you pick a tool the s-hook will stay put and not fall off. I use a magnetic knife holder for my screwdrivers. Most used screwdriver I use is screwdriver with interchangeable bits.
