Mari0, a Super Mario Bros. and Portal Mashup, Now Available
Last year we showed you a teaser video of Mari0, an in-production mashup of the original Super Mario Bros. game and Portal. Now it’s ready for download and available for Windows, Mac, and Linux machines.
The release is even more than we originally hoped for. We would have been happy with a the original levels from Super Mario Bros. and the ability to portal gun our way around them. In addition to that, however, you get the original game (with the portal modifications), four-player simultaneous co-op (like the New Super Mario Bros. for Wii), a level editor, downloadable map packs, and a level editor to create your own map packs, as well as the ability to tweak in-game modifiers for more play variety.
If we’ve wrecked your productivity right out of the gate this week, our apologies. Download the free game for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux at the link below.

It’s been a really long time since I played original SMB, but didn’t you turn into “regular Super Mario” when hit by an enemy as Fire Mario?
Yes! Finally! I cant wait to play when I get home! :D
@Mike_NJ
Yes, I believe you are correct.
Wow, I’m hearing about this like crazy today. For the first time ever.
Apparently, there’s a reference in it to MLP:FIM. It’s a shame I can’t see youtube videos at work.

The Fire Mario to Super Mario downgrade was introduced in Super Mario Bros. 3 (the third Mario game for the NES).
