One of the cool things about HTG is that they’re always gaining new readers who HAVEN’T seen some of their earlier offerings. Which is why, though they may have “posted this before!?!?!?!?…” I appreciate it instead of taking it personally. Particularly since they gave fair warning of that fact by adding the word “classic” after the article title.
Oh… and it made me laugh.
I studied medieval history in college from Josiah Cox Russell, the demographer, in the early 60s. That sparked a life long interest in demography.
Bet Dr Russell would have enjoyed this video.

Surprised you could post this; NRK (Norway) hasn’t signed the Internet piracy agreement and they’ve been forced to take all their shows off line. Only way you can get them these days is short wave, if that’s still available.
