DIY Softbox Offers Cheap, Flexible, and Portable Flash Diffusion
If you’re short on cash but handy with a sewing machine, this tutorial turns dirt cheap materials into a flexible, easy to pack, and extremely portable flash softbox.
Design student Hunter Frerich was looking for an inexpensive way to recreate the Honl Traveller, a small and easily packed softbox.
To avoid shelling out $70 for what amounts to a flexible fabric cone, he fired up the sewing machine and, using black fabric, aluminum foil, and a bit of flexible plastic as a diffuser element.
