DIY 737 Flight Simulator Is a Work of Art [Video]

This B737-800NG cockpit replica, two years in the making, is an amazingly detailed 1:1 build with a build in computer system and flight simulator. Check out the video to see it in action.

This detailed simulator includes every imaginable detail from the boot sequence of the aircraft’s onboard computers to properly light instrument panels. The aviation buff behind the project even rebuilt the bucket seats to airline specifications. Check out the video above to see it in action and then hit up the link below for the project blog.

8737-800NG Home Cockpit [via Hack A Day]

Jason Fitzpatrick is warranty-voiding DIYer and all around geek. When he's not documenting mods and hacks he's doing his best to make sure a generation of college students graduate knowing they should put their pants on one leg at a time and go on to greatness, just like Bruce Dickinson. You can follow him on if you'd like.

Very nice. The static wet compass in the middle of things spoils the illusion, otherwise, rather astounding.
