Geek Out Your Lab with a DIY Glowing DNA Helix Lamp
This DIY project combines EL-wire, acrylic, LEDs, and a crystal solution to create an eye catching and geektacular DNA-inspired lamp.
Instructables user LucidMovement was looking for some crystal-based artwork for his office but everything he found wasn’t to his taste. His solution? To start an awesome DIY project that involved building his own crystal artwork on a double-helix of glowing wire, encasing it all in an acrylic tube, and then mounting it on a custom cut acrylic base with LEDs inside. The end result is a stunning lamp that would look at home in any mad scientist’s laboratory.
