Enjoy the ‘Let It Snow’ HTML5 Demo from Microsoft
Want to enjoy some snow-powered goodness on your computer? Then browse on over to Microsoft’s ‘Let It Snow’ HTML5 demo page!
Once you get to the site you can choose the number of snowflakes you want to see using the Selector Menu in the lower left corner. After that sit back and enjoy the snowy goodness. You can also use your mouse to clear off the sign to see the message underneath, then let the snow cover it up again.
Keep in mind that performance may vary on your system based on browser used and the hardware on your computer (the demo does depend on hardware acceleration to run at its best).

Or type “Let it Snow” in Google (and it doesn’t include any music plus works in most browsers, Microsoft gives me 3 fps..)
Works great on Firefox. On Internet Exploder……….
FAIL!
It doesn’t work at all for me in IE8 (don’t think it does HTML5), it works OK in IE9, but what the hell happened to Firefox? 4Fps where as IE gave me 60?
works great except one thing….
ok tried it in IE9 chrome anf firefox (all latest)
here is the thing: IE 9 and firefox STOLE one pixel :@ max resolution was 1600X899 (default max is 1600X900)
On chrome work normaly :P
:D
Wow 2 fps! This is gonna catch really fast! (sarcasm)
I like the piano in this…
Didn’t work at all with my Firefox – no snow, no music. It worked fine with Chrome.
On my i7 laptop it lags like a dog. Huh, this is replacing Flash?
y’all’s video drivers are f’d up — the point of this demo is that the GPU is doing all the work. If you are getting under 30 FPS at the default or automatic setting, then the CPU is doing the rendering (poorly). So: you are supposed to be getting those terrible frame rates so you can a/b it with GPU enhanced mode.
60 FPS @ 1680×1050 with 1000 flakes; 2000@50; 4000@25 — ie9, Radeon 6000 series
